Eric Hatfield, Chapter President, Eve Mazzara, Past President Cathy Cahill, Vice President and Justin Sloggatt, TipMaster presented a talk on LeTip common comments and concerns:
The LeTip Model: there is a flip chart of how to conduct a meeting which is a LeTip requirement to be followed at every meeting.
The By-laws are the glue that holds this club together. The By-laws protect the membership when there are conflicts.
Several definitions of the various committees that may confuse you:
The conflicts committee (conflicts that might arise between potential incoming members and existing members), Sam Rosenberg, Sigmund Thomas, Jane Silverstein, Lisa Paschall).
The Better Business Bureau, also Sam, Sigmund, Jane and Lisa (business to business, not as intense as an ethics violation),
Ethics: Tony Santarelli (an issue that’s bigger than the Better Business Bureau)
Membership: Applicants can be voted out if they are not doing a good match for the group and Members can be terminated for failure to abide by the ByLaws.
Sam and Tony are the first level of addressing issues where members are talking about each other.
Negative Energy: a very small minority can have a negative effect on the entire group. If there is criticism, make sure it is constructive. If there are other issues, use the committees that are in place to deal with the conflicts you are having.
